Wall Street Journal bestselling humorous mystery and romantic comedy author Larissa Reinhart

After teaching in the US and Japan, The Wall Street Journal bestselling author Larissa Reinhart writes humorous mysteries and romantic comedies, particularly featuring sassy Southern females with a penchant for trouble.

Her first publication was the best-selling, humorous Cherry Tucker Mystery, Portrait Of A Dead Guy, with Henery Press in 2012 (with rights reverted to Past Perfect Press in 2017), a 2012 Daphne du Maurier finalist, 2012 The Emily finalist, and 2011 Dixie Kane Memorial winner. In April 2018 Portrait was chosen by Woman's World Magazine as a book club pick, and in 2021 chosen by Amazon as Prime Reading. A selection from Portrait was also in the 2017 Silver Falchion Reader's Choice winner, Eight Mystery Writers You Should Be Reading Now.

Other books in the Cherry Tucker series:

Portrait of a Dead Guy (2012)

Still Life In Brunswick Stew (2013)

Hijack In Abstract (2013) a 2014 Silver Falchion and Georgia Author of the Year nominee.

Death In Perspective (2014), the 2015 Georgia Author of the Year finalist for Best Mystery.

A Vigilante Vignette, a Halloween novella (First appeared in Midnight Mysteries: Nine Cozy Tales from Nine Bestselling Mystery Authors, 2016).

A View to a Chill (2017/2018) was in the Wall Street Journal bestselling anthology The 12 Slays of Christmas.

"A Motherlode of Trouble," (short story in the KaliOka Press anthology Year-Round Trouble, 2020).

The Maizie Albright Star Detective series (Past Perfect Press) also features an amateur sleuth set in a fictional Georgia town. Inspired by the growing TV and movie industry near her town of Peachtree City, Larissa created the character Maizie Albright, an ex-child and reality star who returns to her hometown in Georgia to become a private investigator.

Books in the Maizie Albright Star Detective series:

15 Minutes (2017), a 2017 Best Mysteries for Book Clubs pick by Hot Mystery Reviews.

16 Millimeters (2017), finalist for the Silver Falchion Best Cozy Mystery and for the Reader's Choice Award.

17.5 Cartridges in a Pear Tree (2019)

Actress and performer Joan Dukore voiced all the Maizie Albright audiobooks, including Crimes Most Merry & Albright, the omnibus featuring A View to A Chill and 17.5 Cartridges in a Pear Tree.

The novella A View to a Chill combines the Cherry Tucker and the Maizie Albright series as an interconnected mystery. View first appeared in the December 2017 Wall Street Journal bestseller, The 12 Slays of Christmas anthology. The limited-run anthology was a charitable effort by twelve mystery authors, raising thousands of dollars for no-kill animal shelters through the ASPCA, the Houston SPCA, and the Dr. Jane Foundation in Florida for hurricane victimized displaced pets.

In 2018, Larissa wrote The Cupid Caper (Past Perfect Press, 2018), the first full-length novella in the Finley Goodhart Crime Caper series. The Cupid Caper was a 2021 Page Turner Awards finalist and Long List winner. The first short story, Pig'N a Poke (Past Perfect Press, 2015), is available for free for her newsletter subscribers. She plans at least two more novels in the series: The Pony Predicament and The Heir Affair.

Larissa and her family live in Peachtree City, Georgia, but have also lived several times in Japan. They appeared on HGTV's House Hunters International, "Living for the Weekend in Nagoya, Japan," which premiered on August 31, 2016. Click here for the listing.
