Wall Street Journal bestselling author Larissa Reinhart

After teaching in the US and Japan, The Wall Street Journal bestselling author Larissa Reinhart writes humorous mysteries and romantic comedies, particularly featuring sassy female characters with a penchant for trouble.

The first in the best-selling, humorous Cherry Tucker Mystery series, Portrait Of A Dead Guy (Past Perfect Press, 2012/2017), is a 2012 Daphne du Maurier finalist, 2012 The Emily finalist, and 2011 Dixie Kane Memorial winner. In April 2018 Portrait was chosen by Woman's World Magazine as a book club pick.

Following Portrait are Still Life In Brunswick Stew (Past Perfect Press, 2013/2018), Hijack In Abstract (2013) a 2014 Silver Falchion and Georgia Author of the Year nominee, and Death In Perspective (Henery Press, 2014), the 2015 Georgia Author of the Year finalist for Best Mystery, The Body In The Landscape (Henery Press, 2015), and A Composition in Murder (Henery Press, 2016). There are also three Cherry Tucker novellas, "A Christmas Quick Sketch," in the 2018 mystery anthology, Sleigh Bells and Sleuthing and in 2013's Heartache Motel (Henery Press), and A Vigilante Vignette (Past Perfect Press), which first appeared in the Halloween Mystery Anthology, Midnight Mysteries: Nine Cozy Tales from Nine Bestselling Mystery Authors (2016). In 2020, KaliOka Press published "A Motherlode of Trouble" in the anthology Year-Round Trouble.

An excerpt from Portrait of a Dead Guy also appeared in the 2016 anthology Eight Mystery Writers You Should Be Reading Now, which earned a Silver Falchion Reader's Choice Award (2017).

Like the Cherry Tucker series, Larissa's newest humorous mystery series, Maizie Albright Star Detective (Past Perfect Press), has an amateur sleuth set in a fictional Georgia town. Inspired by the growing TV and movie industry near her town of Peachtree City, Larissa created the character Maizie Albright, an ex-child and reality star who returns to her hometown in Georgia to become a private investigator. The first in the series 15 Minutes (Past Perfect Press, 2017) launched in January 2017. Currently, there are five books and one novella in that series: 16 Millimeters (Past Perfect Press, 2017), A View to a Chill (Past Perfect Press, 2018), NC-17 (Past Perfect Press, 2018), 17.5 Cartridges in a Pear Tree (Past Perfect Press, 2019) and18 Caliber (Past Perfect Press, 2020), with more to come.

15 Minutes was chosen by Hot Mystery Reviews as a "Top Ten Mysteries for Book Clubs" for 2017. In 2018, 16 Millimeters was a finalist for the Silver Falchion Best Cozy Mystery and for the Reader's Choice Award.

The novella A View to a Chill (Past Perfect Press, 2018) combines the Cherry Tucker and the Maizie Albright series. View first appeared in the December 2017, Wall Street Journal bestseller, The 12 Slays of Christmas anthology. The limited run anthology was a charitable effort by twelve mystery efforts, raising thousands of dollars for no-kill animal shelters through the ASPCA, the Houston SPCA, and the Dr. Jane Foundation in Florida for hurricane victimized displaced pets.

In 2018, Larissa added The Cupid Caper (Past Perfect Press, 2018), the first full-length novella in the Finley Goodhart Crime Caper series. The first short story, Pig'N a Poke (Past Perfect Press, 2015), is available for free for her newsletter subscribers. She plans at least two more novels in the series: The Pony Predicament and The Heir Affair.

Larissa and her family live in Peachtree City, Georgia, but have also lived several times in Japan. They appeared on HGTV's House Hunters International, "Living for the Weekend in Nagoya, Japan," which premiered on August 31, 2016. Click here for the listing.
